This is the full teaching series in one place. It was built to be worked through in order, but it does not have to be. Every article answers its own question and can be read on its own.
Twenty-one short teachings in three parts: the Word, prayer, and faith. Start at the top of week one, or jump to whichever question you came here with. Each one stands on its own.
The series follows one line of thought. Week one is about reading the Bible in a way that lasts. Week two takes up prayer. Week three moves to faith, healing, and how a message travels past the people who first heard it. Later articles assume the earlier ones, so reading in order gives you the argument. Reading out of order still gives you the answer.
Week One: The Word
Reading the Bible so that it stays with you.
1. Cover the Earth With God's Word: Where That Vision Actually Starts The vision behind everything that follows, and why it has always begun in living rooms rather than on platforms.
2. How to Read the Bible When You Have Never Finished It Do not start in Genesis. Where to start instead, and how to finish something.
3. What a Year of Daily Bible Reading Actually Does to You Not a dramatic moment. Three specific changes that arrive around month seven.
4. Read Books, Not Fragments Why a verse lifted out of its paragraph can be made to say almost anything.
5. Seeing Jesus in Every Book of the Bible One question worth carrying into every passage, taken from the road to Emmaus.
6. What to Do With a Passage You Do Not Understand A workable order of operations for the moment you get stuck.
7. Marking Your Bible: A Simple System for Remembering What You Read Three marks and nothing else. A system simple enough to survive.
Week Two: Prayer
Prayer as a conversation rather than a performance.
8. Prayer Is a Conversation, Not a Performance God already knows what you need. What that changes about how you pray.
9. How to Pray Scripture Back to God The oldest fix for the blank page, and why it also corrects what you ask for.
10. What to Pray When You Do Not Know What to Pray Romans 8 treats this as normal. What to do when you are there.
11. Praying for People You Will Never Meet Intercession is largely unverified work. How to keep it real instead of vague.
12. Asking Once Versus Praying Persistently Whether asking again shows a lack of faith, and one test worth knowing.
13. Keep a Prayer Record A notebook, one line per request. Why memory keeps the wrong entries.
14. Praying Together in Your Own House The room between private and public prayer, and how to start small.
Week Three: Faith and Mission
What faith is, where it comes from, and how far it travels.
15. What Faith Is, and What It Is Not Substance and evidence. Both concrete words, neither one a feeling.
16. Where Faith Actually Comes From If faith comes by hearing, the answer to thin faith is not to try harder.
17. What Scripture Says About Praying for the Sick What James actually instructs, and the two things honest faith holds at once.
18. How to Stand With Someone in a Long Illness The casseroles stop at week three. What the long haul actually asks for.
19. Why the Gospel Crosses Borders Four concentric rings, and the one most of us quietly treat as optional.
20. How Ordinary Believers Carry the Word In Acts 8 it was the congregation who went, not the apostles.
21. A Legacy Is a Habit Repeated Long Enough Where the road actually went, and what it was made of.
Where to Start
If you have never finished the Bible, start with number two. If prayer is the thing you have been avoiding, start with number eight. If you are sitting with someone who is sick, go straight to number eighteen. Nobody is grading the order.
Open the book. Teach somebody. Keep at it longer than is interesting.
