Before we gather with one another, we need to remember who holds us together.
“I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all. (WEB)”

Today Paul calls us to live in a way that matches the grace we have received. Our unity is not something we manufacture, but something the Spirit has already given us in Christ.
That means worship is not just showing up in the same room. It is coming with humility, patience, and love, ready to make room for one another.
Differences will always be with us, but they do not have to become divisions. When we remember our one Lord, one faith, and one Father, our hearts can soften toward the people beside us.
So as we gather today at Encounter Church, let us ask the Lord to help us guard the bond of peace. Unity grows when we choose gentleness, listen well, and refuse to treat one another lightly.
A Word of Prayer
Father, make us worthy of the calling we have received. Teach us to walk together in humility and love, and let your peace hold our church family close to you and to one another.
