Some days our hearts feel pulled in ten directions at once. Work, worries, plans, and pressures can crowd out the quiet voice of Christ.
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
— Colossians 3:1-4
Paul does not tell us to ignore life below, but to live from a higher center. When Christ is our life, our days are steadied by His presence, and even heavy circumstances do not get the final word.
To set our hearts above is to remember where our deepest security rests. We are hidden with Christ, which means our identity is not carried by our productivity, our fears, or our failures.
That truth changes how we walk through ordinary moments. The dishes, the schedule, the hard conversation, the waiting. All of it is held by a Savior who reigns and who will one day reveal the glory He has already begun in us.
A Word of Prayer
Lord Jesus, lift our eyes when they have grown tired and distracted. Help us to live today from the truth that our life is hidden with You, and teach us to trust Your eternal purpose in every step. Amen.
