Scripture: Ruth 1:16-17 — Today's theme of perseverance through challenges and steadfast faith is beautifu

Some days the road ahead feels uncertain, and what holds us steady is not a clear map, but a faithful heart.

“But Ruth replied, "Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me."”

— Ruth 1:16-17

Ruth’s words are more than loyalty. They are a choice of faith in the middle of loss. When life is unclear, steadfast love and trust in God can become the path forward.

Ruth does not know how the story will end, but she chooses faithfulness anyway. That is often how perseverance looks for us, one faithful step at a time.

She stays with Naomi when it would have been easier to return to what was familiar. In the same way, God often meets us when we keep showing up, keep praying, and keep loving, even when the future feels hidden.

Her confession, “Your God my God,” reminds us that steadfast faith is not just grit. It is belonging. We do not walk alone, and we do not walk for ourselves alone.

A Word of Prayer

Lord, give us Ruth’s steadfast heart. Help us remain faithful in hard seasons, trust You when the path is unclear, and love others with courage and grace. Amen.
