Psalm 23, Line by Line

Psalm 23, Line by Line

Some mornings we wake up carrying more than we can name, and the heart feels tired before the day even begins.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."

— Psalm 23:1

Today’s Reflection: David does not begin by denying need. He begins by naming the One who meets it. When the Lord is our Shepherd, our deepest lack is answered by His faithful care. We can rest because we are not guiding ourselves.

These words are simple, but they carry us far. A shepherd does not merely point the way, he walks with the sheep, keeps watch, and provides what is needed at the right time.

That means our peace is not found in having every answer. It is found in belonging to the One who leads wisely and loves personally.

So when anxiety rises, remember this verse. You are not abandoned, overlooked, or left to figure life out alone. The Lord is your Shepherd, and in Him, your soul has enough.

A Word of Prayer

Father, help us trust Your care today. When we feel lacking, remind us that in You we are held, guided, and provided for. Teach our hearts to rest in the Shepherd who never fails us. Amen.
